Jim Dyke Comments on Red ‘Wave’, Strong Democrat Showing in Virginia

On November 10, 2022, McGuireWoods Consulting James W. "Jim" Dyke Jr., senior state government relations advisor, was quoted in Virginia Business during a panel discussion on the 2022 midterm elections.

The event was the 16th annual Virginia Business Political Roundtable and looked at how the Republican Red wave failed to materialize.

Dyke noted that the political tinge of the districts were a significant factor in the election, but flawed campaigns were also a factor in the surprisingly strong showing by Democrats.

Dyke said: "With all these election deniers, from what I've been able to see is [that] most of those have gone down to defeat because, hopefully, people recognize that preserving our democracy is very, very important."
